バッファロー(水牛)の骨で作られたイアリング。

インドネシアのあるひとつの島ではバッファローの骨は、繁栄の象徴であるだけでなく、先住民族の信仰に基づいて天国に精神を導くための神聖な乗り物として信じられています。
彼らは21世紀となった今でも水牛の肉、角、皮を用いて儀式を行います。
毎年多くの数の水牛が儀式で使われますが、「骨」だけは捨てられている事にクナンジュエリーは注目しました。

水牛の骨はとても頑丈で、磨くと独特の光沢を放ちます。

Buffalo, "tedong" in Toraja language, is not only a symbol of prosperity but it is believe as a holy ride to guide the spirit to heaven based on their indigenous belief.
Still practicing their indigenous ceremonies, Toraja people consumes a high amount of buffalos each year. While the meat, horn, and skin are being used, the bone waste itself used to be thrown away...

‘ m a n a s u m o ’ means ‘it’s already cooked (rice)’. Theanswer for manasu moraka means ‘is the rice cooked yet?’ a daily greeting in Toraja especially when someone visit other’s houses. It represent a hope and prayer that the owner of the house is well, happy, and healthy.
‘ m a n a s u m o ’ were made to preserve and introduce not only the culture but also the traditional skill or Toraja’s craftmanship by sourcing the bones from their own traditional ceremonies and crafted locally in Toraja combined with our #CraftedMetalWaste.
